7 Things You Need To Know About Baptism!
If it was good enough for Jesus, it should be good enough for you, right?
Actually we think it was more to do with the beginning of his ministry and ordination into the high priestly ministry- but still!
We like to say that it is an outward expression of your inward belief- it is your way of telling the world that you are a follower of Jesus!
Plan on wearing something dark. This is church, not spring break so we wouldn't want any wet t-shirt contests to break out. We will provide a black t-shirt, should you forget, and we will have a towel available when you are done!
When you are baptized your immersion into the water, the moment that you remain under, and your coming up out of the water is a symbol of your participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. It is a reminder of your new life in Christ!
We don't think so, we believe that our salvation is solely a work of God to which we respond in faith. Nothing more, nothing less. After all, Jesus told the thief that was crucified next to him that he would be with him in paradise. We believe that baptism is a voluntary response that is a public declaration of your relationship with Jesus.
We will have a black t-shirt for you, and a towel, too, but please be prepared. It's April. It will likely be on the chilly side. So bring something warm to change into after you have experienced the blessing of baptism!
After your baptism, make sure that you get plugged into a ReGroup, or join our ReServe Dream Team. Your baptism is just another step in your spiritual journey- make sure that you take advantage of all the opportunities to get the most out of your relationship with God and your connections with others at Relevant! We want to help you flourish!
